About Overseer Hamilton

Biography of Overseer Stanley Hamilton

Born in Akron, Ohio in 1980, Stanley Hamilton’s early years were marked by turbulence and pain. Though baptized at 13, the pull of the streets proved stronger, and by eighth grade he was already entangled in the judicial system with serious charges. By tenth grade, he had dropped out of school, convinced that the streets would be his teacher.

At 18, Stanley’s choices led him to prison. Yet what seemed like the end became the beginning. In that place of confinement, he encountered God in a lifechanging way—his own road to Damascus. Hours spent in prayer and Scripture transformed his heart. When he felt led to write a letter to the judge, God’s grace opened the door to an early release. From that moment, Stanley vowed never again to be a menace to society, but to be a voice of hope and truth.

His journey of redemption continued in 2006 when he joined Puritan Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN under Bishop Larry Grinstead, who became a spiritual father and mentor. Seven years later, Stanley was called to serve alongside Bishop Mark Evans at Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Terre Haute, Indiana. There he was licensed as a Minister and later ordained as an Elder, faithfully serving with his wife, Maria.

In 2023, Stanley was elevated to Overseer by Bishop Marvin Denson of Covenant Churches of America. Baltimore, MD. Stanley+ now serves as Overseer of administration to the regional Vicar General Bishop Mark A. Maxwell of Praise and Worship ministries Indianapolis, IN. On February 8, 2024 Overseer launched the ReUp Ministries—a movement dedicated to engaging those who are still caught in street life by offering renewed hope, recovery, and redemption through Christ.

Today, Overseer Hamilton and Lady Maria, married since 2015, continue to serve together with passion and purpose. Their mission is clear: to bridge the gap between the streets and the church, showing the world that no past is too broken for God to redeem.
“But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 3:13-14
